The Way: A City Walking with Jesus
A Shared Journey of Faith Across Devonport
The Way is an invitation for believers across the Devonport Church to move beyond belief into practice — living out the way of Jesus together through community, generosity, and everyday discipleship.
From February to Easter 2026, we’ll walk a shared path of unity, renewal, and mission — one city walking with one Saviour.
“Whoever claims to live in Him must live as Jesus did.” — 1 John 2:6 (NIV)
Four Simple Ways We’ll Walk Together
1. Reading Together
Across the Devonport Church, we’ll be reading Practising the Way by John Mark Comer — a book that helps us learn to live like Jesus in real life. Families, small groups, and individuals are encouraged to read, talk, and put what they learn into practice.
2. Learning Together
All Church gatherings will share an eight-week teaching journey in their own unique way. Each week will invite us to follow Jesus’ example in ordinary life — at home, at work, in our schools, and in our city.
3. Walking Together
Life Groups, small groups, will gather weekly to open the Bible, pray, and try simple, life-giving practices. It’s about growing in faith side by side — sharing meals, serving others, and encouraging one another.
4. Sharing Together
Throughout the journey we’ll tell real stories of faith and change from people across our city — moments that show how following Jesus makes a difference in everyday life.
