One Voice Devonport – A Day of Prayer We Can All Be Part Of
Sunday 14th September 2025
6:00am – 6:00pm
On Sunday 14th September, the Devonport Christian Leaders are inviting every church, every believer, and every heart across Devonport to join in something simple yet significant:
a whole day set aside for united prayer.
We’re calling it ‘One Voice’ Devonport.
From 6:00am to 6:00pm, our goal is to cover the daylight hours in prayer—hour by hour, heart by heart.
Then we’ll finish the day together with a combined citywide prayer gathering at 7:00pm at C3 Church Devonport.
This isn’t just another event on the calendar.
It’s a declaration of dependence on God, a response to the needs around us, and a shared cry for His Spirit to move across our city.
“Pray continually.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:17
“With one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel.” — Philippians 1:27
When the Church comes together—not in competition but in unity—something shifts.
Chat with Your Pastor or Church Leaders
If this stirs something in you, take a moment to speak with your pastor or leadership team.
Ask how your church is planning to be involved and where your designated prayer space will be.
It’s been an encouraging journey to stand together in unity as the city’s Christian leaders—the Devonport Church.
Now we’re inviting every believer, from every gathering, to take part in their own way.
There’s no one “right” way to do this.
It’s not about the spotlight or the stage—it’s about being present.
It’s about coming as you are, in your own gathering space, in your own way, and simply taking time to pray.
What It Might Look Like in Your Church
-
A sign-up sheet or roster so people from your church can cover every hour between 6:00am and 6:00pm—no gaps over the 12 hours.
-
A dedicated prayer space in your usual gathering location—somewhere quiet and focused where people can drop in to pray.
-
Freedom in how you pray—through worship, reading Scripture, silence, or intercession.
No pressure. No performance.
Just faithful people showing up in their own context, lifting a unified cry to heaven as the Devonport Church.

What Are We Praying For?
We’re keeping this simple.
Pray for what’s right in front of you—the people, situations, and needs you see and carry each day.
This isn’t about spiritual jargon or ticking boxes. It’s about real people, real need, and real hope.
Here are some starting points:
-
Our churches and leaders – that we’d lead humbly, serve boldly, and stay united as we walk this out together (Ephesians 4:1–3).
-
Young people and families – for identity, resilience, strong relationships, and peace of mind in a noisy and uncertain world.
-
Those doing it tough – people facing poverty, addiction, anxiety, isolation, or just trying to keep afloat. May they know they’re not forgotten.
-
Schools, community leaders, and frontline workers – for strength, wisdom, and rest for those who show up day after day for others (1 Timothy 2:1–2).
-
A fresh openness to Jesus – in homes, workplaces, schools, cafés, and quiet corners of our city (2 Chronicles 7:14).
- Mobilising Everyday Christians for Service – That God would awaken and mobilise everyday believers—teachers, shopkeepers, farmers, students, and tradespeople—to take their place in His plan, using their gifts to serve with humility, love, and unity, so the whole Body is healthy, growing, and full of love. (Ephesians 4:16).
Ask God to meet people right where they are.
To soften hearts. To bring light into darkness. To awaken people to His love.
To stir something deep and lasting.
“Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” — Jeremiah 33:3 (NIV)
Let’s keep it real. Let’s keep it local. And let’s believe in the power of prayer.
Spiritual Unity & Public Witness
This day isn’t just about private prayer—it’s also a public witness.
When we pray together across Devonport, we declare to our city:
The Church is united. The Church is praying. The Church is here.
“How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity.” — Psalm 133:1
Let’s Finish It Together
To close the day, we’ll gather for a combined citywide prayer meeting at 7:00pm at C3 Church Devonport—a time of worship, reflection, and united intercession as we lift one final prayer together, in One Voice.
The Devonport Chaplaincy team has promo materials—flyers, slides, and social graphics—available through the Devonport Christian Leaders Network to help you share the invitation in your church.
Let’s cover Devonport in prayer—hour by hour, heart by heart.
One heart. One Spirit. One Voice.
